Guiding Principles

Following are some themes that come from our experiences and success that relate to your situation.

The Vision / Roadmap

  • Make sure the Vision is attainable in the next 5 years. Embrace the idea of change / flexibility

  • The Roadmap should be “actionable” and coincide with business maturity and priority

  • Involve key stakeholders and make sure they are vested in the success

  • Identify expected areas of benefit. Consider priority driven “deep dives” or “quick hits”

The Execution Process

  • Take an iterative approach (Agile)

  • Focus on change management and user adoption

  • Quantify and track the value achieved to justify further investments Adopt a “90 days” approach. Market your success.

  • Create leverage/economies of scale through standards, best practices, and procedures etc.

The Data

  • Data is infinitely more valuable when it is integrated and “clean”. Have a quality team and program.

  • Clear governance model to involve business and IT. Strong partnership here.

  • Make sure you have the basics in place before going too far (e.g. Master Data Management – MDM)

  • Decipher what is noise and what is important

  • Focus on a design that facilitates optimal performance

The Analytics

  • Put tracking mechanisms in place early on so you have a benchmark and can drive behavior

  • Individualize the experience for users and make consumption of information as intuitive as possible as you actively work to drive users up the maturity curve

  • Build applications that are low maintenance and easily upgradable

  • Work to harmonize existing investments.

What Industry Facts Support our POV Workshop

Industry experts explain that between 60-65% of all analytics and data projects and programs fail to deliver on the requirements of their specific needs.  The leading reasons why these failures occur are:

  • Lack of business involvement for proper defined project requirements
  • Long delivery cycles
  • Poor data quality
  • Targeted goals
  • Critical factors to help our clients understand value with technology, this results in measurable value.
  • Our recommendations (strategic approach) will be proposed immediately following the POV Workshop
  • BLUEPRINT model for delivery and implementation, best practices for go-forward strategy, and project plan to implement the POV Workshop focus points for production ready purposes.
