3. PAXcel™ Product — Data Collection & Processing
PAXcel™ is ForQuest Solutions’ Microsoft Excel add-in that connects Microsoft Excel to IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) environments. This section describes specifically how PAXcel handles data in the context of your Microsoft 365 and IBM Planning Analytics environments.
Data PAXcel Accesses
When you use PAXcel, the add-in may access or process the following categories of data:
- Excel Workbook Data: Cell values, named ranges, table structures, and formulas within workbooks where PAXcel is actively used to read from or write to IBM Planning Analytics
- IBM Planning Analytics Connection Credentials: Server URL, port, and authentication credentials you provide to establish a connection to your TM1 environment. These credentials are stored locally on your device or within your organization’s infrastructure and are never transmitted to ForQuest servers
- TM1 Cube and Dimension Data: Planning data, dimension members, and cube values retrieved from or written to your IBM Planning Analytics environment during normal add-in operation
- Microsoft 365 Account Information: Basic Microsoft account identity information (name, email) used for licensing verification and product authentication where applicable
- Usage Telemetry: Anonymized feature usage data, error logs, and performance metrics used to improve product stability and functionality. No planning data or business data is included in telemetry
Data PAXcel Does Not Access
- PAXcel does not access, read, or transmit workbook content unrelated to active TM1 operations
- PAXcel does not access other Microsoft 365 applications, files, or services beyond the active Excel session
- PAXcel does not collect, store, or transmit your IBM Planning Analytics planning data to ForQuest Solutions or any third party
- PAXcel does not access your email, calendar, contacts, or any Microsoft 365 data outside of Excel
Data Processing Location
All connections between PAXcel and your IBM Planning Analytics environment are made directly from your device to your TM1 server. ForQuest Solutions does not act as an intermediary for your planning data. Licensing and authentication services may connect to ForQuest or Microsoft Azure-hosted services solely for product verification purposes.
Microsoft 365 Permissions
PAXcel requests only the minimum Microsoft 365 permissions necessary to operate. These permissions are disclosed in the Microsoft AppSource listing and are reviewed as part of Microsoft’s certification process. You may revoke these permissions at any time through your Microsoft 365 admin center.
